Dry Toilet
A dry toilet is a toilet that doesm’t use water to manage the waste. It is a more ecological option than a conventional toilet since it saves on water and also makes use of natural biological processes to treat the waste.
The most common types of dry toilets are:
Compost toilet: This type of dry toilet does not use water, the waste falls into a chamber where it is stored and processed naturally. From time to time the user must empty this chamber and deposit the residue in a compost bin so that the residue completes its degradation process and becomes compost. In this type of dry toilet, urine is channeled separately and sawdust, coconut fiber or activated carbon are required to improve the biological process and reduce odors.
Incineration toilet: this type of dry bath incinerates the residue to transform it into sterile ashes. They require electricity or gas to raise the temperature up to 500ºC and thus incinerate the residue. The cup is made of stainless steel and makes it easier for the residue to fall into the combustion chamber. Most incinerating toilet incinerate the waste every 2-4 flushes, and they take from one to four hours to burn all the waste. They include filters to control odor and fans to force the outlet air and control the temperature.
Dry flush toilet: this type of dry bath works by accumulating the residue in a bag. Every time the flushing button is pressed, the toilet closes and seals a bag where the waste is stored. These bag is stored in a sealed tank that has to be emptied periodically.
This type of dry toilet requires a battery or electric current to feed the engine that closes and moves the bag where the waste is collected.
Each type of dry toilet is based on a different principle to manage the waste: composting, incineration or dry flush. Despite these differences, all aim to move the waste to an environment where it is treated or accumulated without odor or chemicals.
There are also other types of ecological toilets that do use water to move the waste to the treatment chamber/biodigester. Its difference compared to a conventional toilet is that the amount of water used is up to 8 times less than in conventional bathrooms. This type of ecological toilets or eco toilet guarantee a user experience similar to a conventional WC and do not require any interaction between the user and the waste.

FOR WHOM IS IT?
Families, neighbors communities, orchards, restaurants, ranchers and farmers. But also companies and associations that want to manage their organic waste in a more sustainable, responsible and ecological way.
Did you know that a family of even 3 people generates enough biogas from their organic remains to cover their cooking needs? Guaranteed, with the Domestic Biodigester 2 you can generate up to 3 hours of cooking per day.
if a family generates enough biogas to cook, imagine how much biogas we could generate if we had more waste. We could not only cook, but also heat water for showers or even generate electricity with a biogas generator.
The Small Business Biodigester 4 is perfect for small restaurants, orchards, small farmers, ecovillages, breweries, neighborhood communities and schools. With the Small Business Biodigester 4 you can generate up to 6 hours of cooking per day, save on gas or electricity bills and generate organic fertilizer, all this while taking care of the environment. To find out more about other possible uses of biogas, such as in a water heater or generator, do not hesitate to write to us.
We are official distributors of HomeBiogas, a company specialized in the manufacture of biodigesters for homes, with more than 6 years of experience with which we share a vision of the future and the motivation to improve the environment from the person.
